Senior Research Director - Melbourne

As we continue to grow, an opportunity has opened up for an exceptional Senior Research Director to join our customer centric, tech savvy and fast-paced environment. A leadership role, this position will provide strategic and operational direction to a team of Researchers across Insight Communities, partnering with a wide range of clients across diverse industries.

The Role

The role requires someone who is energised by coaching a team to deliver outstanding client service; adding value by solving problems using up-to-date research methodology and insights, through a technology lens.  With a hunger for experimenting with new technology, combined with a strong commercial awareness, this role requires someone who will be energised with client interaction, seeking research opportunities that drive growth in each account.

Leading a team across a number of accounts, you will need a proven track record of managing overlapping research projects, with a natural ability to multitask, delegate and coach to ensure the team delivers.  With a growth mindset and natural thought leadership, you will cultivate in your team to work collaboratively across the wider business, driving sustainable and scalable solutions and sharing knowledge to help build new Insight Communities and revenue opportunities.

As a Senior Research Director, you are responsible for three key areas:

  • Driving the direction, quality and efficiencies of Potentiate’s Research projects
  • Building, leading and coaching a motivated and positive team of researchers
  • Delivering to the net revenue targets

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve annual net revenue targets with consistent delivery every quarter
  • Proactively communicate potential, guaranteed & changes in committed revenue
  • Train team members on how to grow revenue within accounts
  • Manage finances – avoid surprises with direct costs, timely approvals of supplier invoices, manage team time sheets & purchased labour
  • Responsible for your team’s aptitude, attitude and conduct
  • Serve as a knowledgeable consultant and a trusted adviser of Insight Communities for clients
  • Engage with clients to build the overall vision for each client delivering excellent client service and final escalation point on decisions
  • Manage direct team’s workflow, capacity and budgets
  • Provide performance management and guidance on career path, training needs, and developmental goals for team
  • Building efficiencies into the research processes

Skills:

  • Passionate about Research with up-to-date knowledge of research methodologies
  • Big picture thinking combined with a high degree of business acumen
  • Strong people management skills, with a track record in leading, coaching and developing a team of researchers
  • Proven experience in delivering operational efficiencies
  • Extensive analytical skills
  • Excellent client relationship management
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
